About

The long road to the fast scenario.

Why Pictures of Tomorrow exists — and why good scenarios must no longer take weeks.

“Pictures of Tomorrow” is not a spontaneous startup idea but the result of years of groundwork. More than 20 years at Siemens, over 10 of them in the corporate foresight unit, have shaped my view of “the future”: observing trends, developing scenarios, preparing strategies — and experiencing how valuable a clear picture of the future is, especially when decisions are due.

This work led to my book “Trends und Szenarien als Werkzeuge zur Strategieentwicklung”, which describes the method systematically. Many foresight projects followed, for companies such as Audi AG — and the lecture at the Technical University of Munich, where I have been teaching scenario technique for years.

Yet scenarios are essentially just the homework of strategy work — thinking through what is possible in a structured way before the actual decisions are made. Until now, this homework was extremely time-consuming: weeks of research, workshops and alignment. Many organisations therefore never did it at all.

The rise of AI has changed that. With a dedicated AI cluster and local models, methodically grounded scenarios now emerge within minutes — axes from a curated factor base, guardrails from research, every set traceable. Exactly that is what I offer as a service: the homework of strategy work, finally in minutes instead of weeks.
